Cold Gas Thruster Valve. Model No. SV14

Image of a Cold Gas Thruster Valve. Model No. SV14Product Overview:
Based on a well-established range of high performance solenoid valves used in high-pressure fluid control applications, the SV14 Cold Gas Thruster uses a flat faced seal to reduce the risk associated with valve internal leakage due to a high cycle life. Variations in thrust level are achieved by use of different sized thruster nozzles.

This valve is a single coil solenoid operated thruster valve comprising of a fixed pole and a suspended moving pole/armature, to which is attached the sealing feature (poppet) of the valve. With increasing supply pressure, the stress on the seal will be increased, but the valve is designed such compression of the seal will be limited by a mechanical stop on the moving pole.

The valves are opened by energising the coil, the resulting force generated by the induced magnetic flux, causes the armature to move towards the ‘fixed pole’ so retracting the poppet from its seat. The valve is closed by de-energising the coil, collapsing the magnetic field. The armature moves the poppet to the closed position under the influence of the helical spring and remains closed under the combined influence of the spring and forces of the working fluid.
