Company History

Formed as a separate company in 2003, under the ownership of Marotta Controls Inc, New Jersey, USA, Marotta U.K. Limited, based in Cheltenham, UK was formerly part of Polyflex Aerospace Ltd.

Polyflex Aerospace was formed in 1977 to provide high pressure components and systems to the defence and space industries. The space segment of Polyflex, including a number of strong product lines, was acquired by Marotta Controls and, under the original name of Polyflex Space Limited (PSL), combined forces with sister company Marotta Ireland Ltd (formerly Devtec Ltd), based in Dublin to become the European centre of operations of the Marotta Group.

Marotta U.K. is, therefore, in the unique position of being a small and relatively young company but carries the benefits of more than twenty years experience of its founding company. Marotta U.K. retains a fresh and dynamic outlook whilst building on the strong reputation built up since its inauguration. With contributions from more than 30 engineers, technicians, commercial and administrative staff, the turnover of the company has increased more than six-fold since space operations started in Cheltenham in the mid-1990s.

Marotta U.K. has brought to the Marotta Group an extended range of space qualified fluid control products and concepts which have gained qualification status and flight heritage on an impressive array of space programmes. Following incorporation into the Marotta Group, these products will continue to be manufactured in Europe and will remain ITAR-free in status and are not, therefore, subject to any US export licensing restrictions.

Our combination of skills and capabilities ensure that we continue to provide an extended range of high end, space qualified, fluid control products and structural engineering solutions to the European and World Aerospace markets.
